Opium pipe

This opium pipe is believed to come from Asia. It is a decorative art piece from the time when drugs were used socially. It was given to Major General Sir Frederick Browning. Later it was given by his widow, the author, Daphne Du Maurier to Helen's father who was their doctor. Helen's father had helped Daphne with her novel 'House on the Strand'. Helen's mother was a magistrate and she made them bury the opium residue in the garden!
