Brighton versus Cambridge

Meatbreak- Brighton

The Thermals – Power Doesn’t Run On Nothing
'It’s full of righteous indignation, fast and intense and opening tracks don’t come any more potent than this.'

Fujiya & Miyagi – Photocopier
'...‘You’re off your, you’re off your, you’re off your bleedin’ rocker’, which about the best lyrical couplet you could ask for.'

Rival Joustas – The Masquerade (Friendly Bombs Remix)
'The guitar line, the sped up vocals, the beats, the noisy breakdown.

Riotmen – Nurses
'it’s a total pounder somewhere in between indie and hardcore, or something!'

Catnap – Onward, Christian
'The heavy section near the end of this, that riff is phenomenal.'

Chow Chow – Skeleton With Hair
'Chows can’t be wrong!

Projections – Muted
'...this track storms down the speakers and eats up the audience.'

The Cleft Palates – Stand Up Sonic.

'Psychotically intense psychedelic indie disco. Don’t say I didn’t warn you!'

Sweet Sweet Cheree – You Dress Like A Slag
'They played a couple of gigs in Southampton and too many people started taking them seriously so they stopped.'

Jonson Monster - Liverpool
Catfight on Sunday!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOP!!!

Lucy, Peacehaven
Meatbreak should def win especially as he is the only one so far to play new music. He actually played songs I havn't heard before - That's why I listen to 6 music.

ed, bristol
Meatbreak for me- surely the point of the mix was to showcase local bands and indie-electro not a club dance dj set, saying that, you can still dance to it!! I fear the Filth fans are afraid to dance to anything other than a 4-4 house beat that doesn’t have the word ‘remix’ after it! ;-)

MEATBREAK TO WIN

Lukey Bizzle, Cambridge
I saw Ban this filth DJ afta a Jack Penate gig and it was class. Wickid way to end a night! First track..Les Inc 'How it all went wrong', Larrikin Love 'Edwould' and it just went from there really! Tune afta tune. None of that commerical rubbish!

Fraser, London (Shoreditch)
Some of these comments are just spot on. Meatbreak could be developing into the new John Peel, true music for music's sake.

Yr_Mum, Manchester

Meatbreak, meatbreak, meatbreak! Ban This Filth are being predictable, conservative and not really keeping it very local. Shame on them!

Le Chiffre, Brighton
Meatbreak shows true imagination with the scope and variety of his mix!

Leanne, London

Rachel, Manchester
Meatbreak is fab! So refreshing to hear something truly new and exciting. And he sounds like a nice fellow.

Shakey, Colchester
Meatbreak's mix reads like an issue of Plan B...and you can't dance to it! Yawn. Ban This Filth win for me.

Benjamin Blitz, Brighton
I used to live in Cambridge and its well boring... I live in Brighton now and its well exciting... and thats all I have to MeatbreakSayabout that. Kiss Kiss

em/brighton
VOTE MEATBREAK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hayley, Cambridge
When I go out to a club, I like to have fun. Ban This Filth scream of neon sex and fun, Meatbreak screams of brown courduroys and staying at home

Steve, Peterborough
Excellent, Ban This Filth know how to bring the filthy dancing rather than the chinstroking. John Peel was fantastic listening in your room with the covers over your head, not so good for a filthy disco to get people dancing. We fear the meatbreak people may be scared to dance.

sunny southampton
u rule win win win

June, Bedford
Meatbreak without a doubt is best. Ban the Filth are looking for steady jobs on 6music. Meatybreaky is looking for TUNES. Yep yep.

Ray, Brighton
Meatbreak's mix: shaking, stirring, sometimes pulverising (Or was that just "Of Montreal"?) Great stuff!

Mark, Horsham
Listening to Meatbreak's mix has just reminded me of why I felt John Peel was so important. Therefore I think he's truly great. New music! Not covers, mixes, rehashes, just stuff you might not have heard before. Very happy listener.

Noami, Cambridge

Ruth, Brighton
Meatbreak rocks oh yes he does

Jack, London
MEATBREAK might have just saved my life.
