Camden Crawl

Crawl blog: Day 2

Get all the latest from the Camden Crawl from 6 Music's Georgie Rogers
25 April 2009 - So day two of the Camden Crawl promises another coupling of cutting edge stars from the likes of Fight Like Apes with old Pacific State dance greats 808 State.

Tonight will also see Kasabian, The Maccabees, The XX, Datarock, Peggy Sue, James Yuill and Alessi's Ark performing in North London.

Today we've sent our roving reporter Georgie Rogers out into the thick of it to see what gems she can dig up. Read all about her Camden Crawl journey below, she'll be busy all right with Kasabian, Little Boots and The Big Pink all lined up for interviews.

For 6 Music's coverage, pictures and news follow us on Twitter.

11:00am: Just got all the equipment together and now leaving the 6 Music Towers to head down to what I imagine is a wet, cloudy Camden, nothing like yesterday then!

12pm: Just got here, going to interview Scroobius Pip in a bit and find out about what he's working on.

Camden is bustling with shoppers and Camden crawlers. Just spoke to some fans who were already having a pint and checking out the schedule. They’re here for the Maccabees and but had a mishap yesterday losing their Yeah Yeah Yeahs passes - lets hope they get it right today!

1pm: Busy down here with interviews! Just chatted to Scroobius pip, who is here doing some spoken word stuff rather than playing a gig. He's really excited about seeing London duo Peggy Sue tonight because he's a big fan. Cocknbullkid excited about her forthcoming album, she's playing in a church later, her velvet voice and vicious wit will go down well there for sure. Maccabees are waiting for me now - so best dash, more in the bulletins on 6 Music.

2pm: Dan Le Sac just told me he is looking at working with Dizzee Rascal on a project, plus he wants to collaborate with Peggy Sue.... Big things planned for the Maccabees later, stripped down yesterday, but something epic later they reckon. I've just done interviews with Fight Like Apes and Kasabian are in town speaking to 6 Music too. The sun's out. Great.

3pm: Howling Bells reckon Coldplay are Gods, might have something to do with the fact they were handpicked for a tour with them. Also 'Bells told me they want to work with Jay Z. Plus i've also just heard about a secret gig Graham Coxon is doing, oops i let the cat out the bag. If i see anything i'll be twittering here

4pm: I haven't stopped doing interviews, it's indie central - still here at Lock 17, Dan Black's been telling me about the new album, he says it's all done now, he did it by himself in Paris, now off to meet Big Pink.

5pm: All my interviews done, loads of news stories which we'll tell you about in our music news bulletins, like Big Pink on the next Klaxons album - there's lots of pics to check out here too. I'm signing off now but will be reviewing Little Boots, Kasabian and Maccabees tonight so you can read those reviews tomorrow.
