Futureheads reveal all on new LP

The lads spill the beans to Gid
15 May 06 - The Futureheads have been telling 6 Music all about their eagerly-awaited second album, News And Tributes.

The band popped into Gideon Coe's show to play live in The Hub - including Skip To The End which not only came out today, but it the first taste of the band's new LP.

The follow-up to the band's self-titled 2004 debut is due out later this spring and was recorded in just five weeks in remote farmhouse in the Yorkshire countryside.

Frontman Barry Hyde told Gideon they'd tried to be as inventive and spontaneous as possible.

He explained: "We recorded it as we were making it up. We'd never done that before."

Barry also added that their locations for the recording various bits of the album were just as random: "The guitars were done in the greenhouses, drums were in the cattle shed, backing vocals were done in the stables and percussion was done in the cellar!"

Don't forget you can listen to the entire interview and session here on the 6 Music website.
