Hard Fi's sad loss

Band scrap dates after Richard's mum dies
28 June 05 - Hard Fi have announced they've pulled all forthcoming appearances to plug their current Top Ten single Hard To Beat following the death of frontman Richard's mother.

The band cancelled their appearance at Glastonbury over the weekend when she fell ill, but sadly, she died yesterday.

Richard's taken time out to deal with funeral arrangements and the band have apologised to any fans disappointed by their non-appearance at the festival.

The lads had been set to play the John Peel tent at 7.30pm - having been moved up the bill from an afternoon slot .

They were the second act who had to cancel a show in the John Peel tent on Sunday. An ear infection forced headliner Ryan Adams to pull out on Friday, and he's subsequently pulled the rest of his UK dates.

Speaking previously to 6 Music about their chart success they said: "It's amazing. We are over the moon about it."
