The campaigners plan to hold more protests |
More than 50 people are mounting a protest against hospital reorganisation plans which could see Pembrokeshire's only general hospital close. Campaigners gathered at Withybush hospital in Haverfordwest, which could shut along with West Wales General Hospital, Glangwili, in Carmarthen.
The plan is part of wider proposals to reorganise NHS services across mid and west Wales.
Pembrokeshire and Derwen NHS Trust said they were disappointed by the protest.
Acting chief executive Mary Hodgeon said: "Over the next few weeks there'll be plenty of opportunity for people to voice their concerns at several public meetings.
"Therefore, it's very disappointing that people have decided to demonstrate like this.
"The proposed changes are all about providing the best health care for people in the area."

However, protesters said closing or downgrading services at Withybush were unacceptable options.
The proposal to close Withybush and West Wales hospitals would mean a new "super hospital" being built halfway between the two existing sites.
The protest organisers say more protests and public meetings will follow this demonstration.
Cherie Harvey, from the group Save Withybush Action Team (SWAT), told BBC Wales: "This fight will carry on, it won't stop. They have to listen.
"They've downgraded our fire station, our police service, our county post office - everything seems to be going from our county town.
"But I'm sorry, the people are strong, firm - they're not going to downgrade our hospital."
A sweeping review of NHS services was announced last month affecting eight hospitals serving one million people in mid and west Wales.
A three-month public consultation began on 3 April.
