Matthews first daughter Glenys Pearl y-Felin was born in Pembrokeshire |
Singer Cerys Matthews has revealed she is expecting her second child. The former Catatonia star broke the news while talking to Jonathan Davies on his S4C chat show on Friday night.
Fellow guest Aled Jones told Davies his wife was expecting a second child which was when Cerys let slip she was also pregnant again.
Matthews, who was brought up in Swansea and Pembrokeshire, now lives with her American husband Seth Riddle and their 18-month-old-daughter in Nashville.
In an interview with the BBC Wales news website last summer while back in Wales to headline the opening night of Sesiwn Fawr Dolgellau (Dolgellau's Big Session), she said she was already teaching her first daughter, Glenys Pearl y-Felin, to speak Welsh.
Cerys married American record producer Seth Riddle two years ago
"I love being a mum and I love living in a place where I am surrounded by like-minded people, and where music is everywhere," she said.
"I am speaking my own form of Wenglish to her - Welsh and English, and I am trying to teach her Italian as well.
"She will probably be half-trilingual - not speaking any of them very well, just like me."
For the birth Matthews returned to her parents home in Trevine, Pembrokeshire, where she married Mr Riddle two years ago.
Since the break-up of Catatonia she has released one solo album, Cockahoop, to critical acclaim.
