Zeta home taken off market
Catherine Zeta Jones and Michael Douglas at this year's Oscars
Catherine Zeta Jones' father is worried about security
The Swansea house where actress Catherine Zeta Jones grew up has suddenly been taken off the market.

The property was for sale ready for her parents Dai and Pat to move to a 1.5m luxury house in Mumbles built by Jones and her husband Michael Douglas.

But it has been withdrawn by Mumbles estate agents Peter Alan just weeks after losing a fight to prevent a neighbour running a business from his home.

The family is considering a High Court review, but this could take two years.

Now there is speculation that the whole move could be in jeopardy.

Jones' family is said to be angry at the prospect of business people accessing what was supposed to be a secluded development.

Neighbour Steve Gwynn successfully applied for planning permission to run his business, Carreras Communications - just yards from their front door.

Hand made

The Oscar-winner's father said the telecommunications business on the estate, which is protected by security gates, would infringe on their privacy.

The five bedroom property expected to be ready in time for Easter has been built from hand made bricks using stone from Gloucestershire.

It has and an extra floor built onto the house to accommodate the couple and their children, Dylan and Carys when they return to south Wales.

Both Zeta Jones, 33, and Douglas, 58, are known to jealously guard their privacy and sued Hello! magazine over unauthorised photos of their wedding in a much-publicised legal battle.

They have five other homes - in Los Angeles, New York, Majorca, Bermuda and the Colorado ski resort of Aspen.

Zeta Jones' parents' four-bedroom property in Mumbles had been on the market for 425,000.

Chris McVeigh, managing director of Peter Alan estate agents, said: "It was recently taken off the market. The family have their own reasons for doing that."

The house was described as a "tastefully presented detached corner property, situated in a sought after location".
