A mother from Denbighshire has vowed to do "whatever it takes" to teach children the dangers of driving too fast following the death of her son.

David Wares, 22, from Prestatyn, died after his car collided with another vehicle on 26 August.

His mother Edwina said she believed educating youngsters will help reduce road deaths.

She said: "The youngsters of the community who can't drive yet must be made aware of the dangers".

She added: "If I can stop one other family losing a child and if I can be of help to anyone else I will do whatever it takes to raise awareness that speed does kill."

Mr Wares, a property management student at Liverpool John Moores University, was returning home from work and had nearly reached the turning for his home when the collision occurred.

His mother added: "He was a lovely boy who lived life to the full.

"His passion was the gym and cars and he drove his family and friends to distraction with his endless plans for a new car project or another car to buy. "

His funeral is due to be held at Calvary Church, Prestatyn, at 1300 BST on 3 October.
