Snowdon summit death man is named
Helicopter over Snowdonia
A helicopter airlifted rescuers to the cloud base on the summit
A 53-year-old man who died after collapsing near the summit of Snowdon has been named.

Robert William Langman, from Walsall, was on the Pyg Track near the 3,560ft (1,085m) summit on Saturday when he had a suspected heart attack.

It prompted an air and land rescue in thick cloud on the highest peak in Wales and England.

Llanberis mountain rescue team members carried him down the mountain, but it was later confirmed he had died.

A total of 24 rescuers were involved, and some were lifted by an RAF helicopter to just below the cloud base at about 1,300ft (400m).

They then completed the rescue operation on foot.

Details of Mr Langman's death have been passed to the coroner.
