Workers on the park campaigned to get an improved bus service |
Workers on a business park on the outskirts of Bangor have claimed partial victory after a bus company agreed to extend its service. Campaigner Douglas Cross said at times people could not work at Parc Menai because they did not drive.
The Countryside Council for Wales (CCW), which has offices on the site, said it welcomed any move to get people to use more public transport.
Arriva Buses said a current route will include the park from 23 July.

"It is ridiculous that there is not a proper bus service to the park as a lot of people do not drive," said Mr Cross, 23.
"I live in Bangor and a colleague who lives in Holyhead has been making a detour into the city every day to pick me and another co-worker up.
"Now we will be able to catch the bus from Bangor and be in work in just a few minutes."
At present workers who rely on the bus are dropped off outside the park and then walk to the offices, which usually takes between 10 and 15 minutes.

"I sent questionnaires to other businesses and had a very positive response from people who said they had workers who could use the new service, and I hope this means the we can have an improved service later on," said Mr Cross.
Sonia Williams, CCW's office manager in the Parc Menai office said: "We welcome the steps taken by Arriva to trial a bus service that includes this site. This will help CCW staff travel to work by bus and make trips into town during lunch breaks.
"CCW strives to carry out its work in a way that causes the least damage to the environment - and public transport is a crucial part of this."
Dave Rickford, 30, from Beaumaris, said he would also welcome a bus service.
"I'm volunteering at the National Trust site at the far end of the park and I was looking at the bus time-table before I started and realised if I wanted to use my Arriva bus pass I couldn't get here direct.
"The bus I now take drops me at the Penrhosgarnedd roundabout and then it takes me about 20 minutes to walk to where I need to be."
A spokesman for Arriva said: "Where possible, we always try and improve services to meet the needs of our customers and, clearly, there is a need make the estate more accessible for local workers.
"We hope the new service will help to achieve this aim."
