The Big Lottery Fund has paid for 23,500 childcare places in Wales |
More childcare places will be created on Anglesey thanks to a lottery grant to build a new children's centre. The building in the grounds of Coleg Menai, at Llangefni, will offer a range of bilingual services to support children and their families.
Backers said more than 6,500 adults and youngsters would benefit.
The Big Lottery Fund said on Monday it had awarded a grant of 383,000 to build the Integrated Children's Centre (ICC) on the island.

Among services offered in the two-storey building will be training courses in childcare, day care provision for under six-year-olds, a children's information service, and a rural family service.
Geriant Elis, chairman of the Anglesey Children's Partnership, said the grant marked a 'significant stage' in the development of the project.
"When opened, the centre will be the hub of the early years and childcare services for the Tudur Ward and the whole of the island," he added.
It will also house a team from the Association of Welsh Medium Nursery Groups.
The Big Lottery Fund has funded 23,500 out-of-school childcare places in Wales through grants totalling 14.3m.
Board member Tom Davies said: "Supporting the building of ICCs is the latest initiative in complementing our aim to create good quality childcare in the most disadvantaged areas in Wales.
"This programme allows us to give more parents access to childcare and to provide quality activities for young people."
