The Gwynt y M�r offshore farm would be built off Denbighshire and Conwy.

Npower Renewables, the firm behind the scheme, wants people to give their opinions on the farm, which would stretch from Prestatyn to Penrhyn Bay.

The exhibitions, which will take place in Llandudno, Prestatyn and Rhyl, are part of a wider consultation programme.

The Gwynt y M�r windfarm, - or wind from the sea in English - would generate enough electricity for 500,000 homes.

The UK government gave its backing for the site last year.

North Wales already hosts the UK's first major off-shore wind farm with North Hoyle, four miles out from Prestatyn.

One of the scheme's managers, Georgia Markwell, said they wanted to encourage feedback on the proposals, which were still at the design stage.

"These exhibitions are the start of a process of liaison and discussion with local communities," she said.

Npower Renewables also plans meetings with local interest groups, councillors, AMs and MPs.

The application for the farm is due to be submitted in the second half of 2005.

Work on the project is expected to start in 2007.
