Sacked workers at the Friction Dynamics plant in Caernarfon have joined some of the biggest stars in Welsh music on stage at a major summer festival. A delegation from the factory appeared on stage in front of a 6,000 capacity audience at the Bethesda rock festival on Saturday.
The festival was headlined by the Super Furry Animals and Cerys Matthews.
The concert was held to mark the end of the Great Penrhyn Quarry Strike which lasted for three years between 1900 and 1903.

Nearly 3,000 slate workers walked out of the Penrhyn quarry in 1900 in a dispute over pay and union membership.
One hundred years later, 87 workers at the Caernarfon car components plant are still waiting for an end to their dispute which is now in its third year.
They won their case for unfair dismissal at an industrial tribunal in Liverpool last November.
But they are still waiting for the final outcome after American plant owner, Craig Smith, won his right to appeal against the decision.
Cerys Matthews is taking the festival stage |
"A delegation of eight will appear on stage with a large banner at the Saturday concert and again on Sunday for the WEA festival," said Dafydd Rhys, chair of Gwyl y Dathlu (Festival of Celebration) before the concert.
"They will also be collecting for their fellow strikers around the field," he added.
Jim Hancock, T&G regional secretary for Wales added: "This weekend's events are just further evidence of the high regard in which these men and women and the community of Caernarfon are held."

A specially commissioned rap song about the three-year struggle of the Penrhyn strikers, which also includes a reference to the Friction Dynamics dispute, was performed by rap artist Steffan Cravos.
He told BBC News Online: "I've written about the history of what happened in 1903 and compared it with events 100 years later where a nearly identical situation is happening only 10 miles down the road.
"The struggle then, and now, was about the right to belong to a union and improving working conditions.
"It's as if history is repeating itself and nothing has really changed," he said.
