A teenager from Queensferry, in Flintshire, has set her sights on a world championship medal in tumbling
A Flintshire student has flown out to Russia to represent Great Britain in the world tumbling championships.
Sharnah Evans, 16, from Queensferry, is ranked first in her age group in Britain and is the reigning British and European junior champion.
The beauty therapy student has been a gymnast since she was two and makes a 170-mile (274 km) trip to Wakefield, West Yorkshire, twice weekly to train.
The championships are being staged in St Petersburg.
Sharnah receives £1,000 a year from the college's Sporting Excellence Scholarship Scheme, designed to help her concentrate on her studies and sport without having to get a part time job.
She said: "Becoming the first Welsh tumbling world champion would be a dream come true."
