Construction equipment company JCB is to cut another 17 posts in Wrexham. Earlier this year, JCB announced 58 redundancies at its two plants in the town, on top of 164 job losses in 2008. Workers have been told an additional 17 staff and shop floor redundancies are needed after the downturn in the global construction equipment market. In November 2008, the Staffordshire-based company announced 400 job losses across the UK and said production would be temporarily cut by a third. A company spokesman said the extra cuts would affect the JCB Transmissions plant. He added: "JCB Transmissions has briefed its workforce on the need for a further 17 staff and shopfloor redundancies as a result of the failure of global construction equipment markets to improve."
