Some of the hospital's wards have been partially closed |
A north Wales hospital has said it is facing an epidemic of a winter diarrhoea and sickness bug. A number of restrictions have been put in place at Glan Clwyd Hospital in Bodelwyddan and some beds have been closed on a number of wards.
A spokeswoman for Conwy and Denbighshire NHS Trust said the bug has been "prevalent in the community".
A number of people have also been admitted to the hospital believed to be suffering from the bug.
Preventative action
Several patients have developed symptoms whilst in hospital and a number of staff are also affected.
At Glan Clwyd, restrictions are in place on Enfys ward and wards one, two, nine, 10, 11 and 12.
Ward six at nearby Abergele Hospital is also affected.
This action has been taken to prevent vulnerable patients from being exposed to the bug.
However, the spokeswoman added that the trust is continuing with surgery and the situation appears to be improving.
