Clwyd Theatr Cymru is trying to attract more visitors |
A north Wales theatre has launched a shuttle bus to make their performances more accessible to audiences. The evening service will take people from the Deeside area of Flintshire to Clwyd Theatr Cymru in Mold and back home again.
The shuttle service is an extension of the commuter scheme which takes workers back and forth to the Deeside Industrial Park.
Up to 1,600 people use the service every week.
"We are looking forward to welcoming new audiences who will now be able to get to the theatre more easily," said Clwyd Theatr Cymru's general manager Julia Grime.

The theatre has had financial pressures in the past and the shuttle bus could help alleviate this.
In 2002 the Welsh Assembly agreed to pay off its 1m debts to Flintshire Council.
People from Flint, Connah's Quay, Shotton, Queensferry, Mancot and Sandycroft who work on the Deeside Industrial Park are already picked up and taken to and from the workplace.
It was following the scheme's success that Clwyd Theatr Cymru and Flintshire Council decided to introduce the project to theatre goers.
"Flintshire County Council is proud to be leading the way with this new integrated public transport system which meets the travelling public's needs," said county councillor Meirion Matthews.
"It has already been greeted positively by employers and their employees on Deeside Industrial Park and I am now delighted that we are expanding the service to include the prestigious Clwyd Theatr Cymru."
The shuttle bus is the second scheme introduced by theatre bosses to encourage more people to see shows.
Last month a touring theatre, withdrawn two years ago when its commercial sponsorship ran out, was re-introduced.
The re-introduction of the mobile theatre and the shuttle bus will help the organisation's finances and ensure theatre lovers can access quality drama.
