Radstone works in the defence and aerospace industries |
Up to 60 people are waiting to hear if they will be made redundant after a computer company in north Wales said it would close if a buyer could not be found. Radstone Technology in Hawarden, Flintshire, which manufactures and assembles computer boards, has been in operation in north Wales for about three years.
If a buyer is not found by February the plant will shut and the work transferred to its other site in Milton Keynes.
David Ashton, the marketing communications manager, said thecompany was looking to sell the site as a going concern.
Radstone Technology, part of the Radstone Group, says it is the world's leading independent supplier of high performance embedded computer products for defence and aerospace applications.
 | As far as their motivation is concerned, any new owner will employ an extremely able band of people |
Mr Ashton said the company would be in discussions with staff and their representatives between now and the new year.
Radstone has a larger operation in Milton Keynes where it says it hopes to "consolidate" work usually done in Flintshire.
Staff willing to move from Flintshire to southern England will be given the opportunity.
The decision to sell off the plant is blamed by the company on a slowdown in the manufacturing sector.
Jeff Perrin, group managing director of Radstone plc, said he had two parties interested in buying the Hawarden site.
"As far as their motivation is concerned, any new owner will employ an extremely able band of people," he added.
The company is in talks with the Welsh Development Agency over its future.
