The victim claims she was attacked by a trick-or-treater
A 12-year-old girl has been arrested following an attack on another girl whose hip was broken.

The victim, 12-year-old Elise Edwards, claimed she was pushed to the ground by someone wearing a Halloween costume as she came out of a phone box at Wrexham in north east Wales.

During the attack, which happened at 1900 BST on 14 October, Elise was thrown to the floor and her hip was broken.

"A 12-year-old girl was arrested in the Wrexham area," said a spokeswoman for North Wales Police.

"She's been charged with GBH on a 12-year-old girl and common assault on an 11-year-old girl."

She will appear before Wrexham Youth Court on 4 November.

Elise, from Rhosddu, near Wrexham, underwent a four-hour operation following the attack and was discharged from hospital a week later.

She had previously undergone a number of operations for a rare hip condition.
