Police have recovered class A drugs worth more than 80,000 in what they believe is their biggest seizure of heroin in north east Wales. Officers found 1.5kilogrammes of the drug in a house on the Plas Madoc Estate in Acrefair near Wrexham on Wednesday.
The occupant of the house, William Roberts, admitted five serious drug offences and told police he had been involved in supplying heroin in Wrexham for the past five years.
On Thursday he was remanded in custody and committed for sentencing to Crown Court.
The 34-year old admitted possessing the heroin with intent to supply, three charges of supplying heroin and being concerned in the supply of heroin previously.
Supply
During his police interview, the defendant told officers that he had initially been involved with the drug trade in the town on the basis of taking telephone messages.
He was the link between user and supplier and was paid 350 per week.
He later gained the trust of the supplier and had been provided with drugs to sell.
He told police he believed their haul to be worth around 43,000 but detectives believe it is worth double the amount.
No application was made for bail.
