Man denies seafront murder
Mr Dodd
Mr Dodd was stabbed to death
A 34-year-old man has pleaded not guilty to the murder of a north Wales pensioner killed in a knife attack in Prestatyn.

Brian Noble Dodd was killed in March whilst out walking his dog near Ffrith Festival Gardens in Prestatyn.

The body of the 72-year-old pensioner was discovered by a member of the public walking a dog in the nearby car park.

Defendant Paul Michael Khan was bailed at Mold Crown Court on Friday on condition he remains at a secure unit at Ashworth Hospital in Merseyside.

Mr Khan said nothing apart from confirming his identity and saying not guilty when the charge was put to him.

Mr Dodd, a retired accountant from Garnett Drive, Prestatyn, had been married to his wife Enid for 10 years and had stepchildren.

The case has been adjourned until September.
