Prince Charles will attend the gala concert |
Prince Charles has visited north Wales - just three weeks after his last visit - for a gala concert at the International Musical Eisteddfod in Llangollen. The prince - patron of the festival - was in Gwynedd last month to celebrate Prince William's 21st birthday.
On Monday evening, he was guest of honour at the concert, held inside the eisteddfod's royal pavilion.
Proceeds from the evening's entertainment, which included a performance by the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, will support the work of The Prince's Trust in Wales.
The charity operates out of nine centres in Wales, three of which serve Llangollen's north Wales region.

The eisteddfod's chief executive Gwyn L Williams said: "There is an even greater air of excitement as we are working so closely with the Prince's Trust at this time," he said. During the evening's celebration, Prince Charles handed over a gift of poetry to the eisteddfod.
The series of four poems about the festival have been written by Grahame Davies who was born and raised in Coedpoeth near Wrexham.
Mr Davies, an executive producer with BBC Wales, was approached by members of The Academi - an agency which promotes literature in Wales.
His series of four poems - read in front of an audience including Prince Charles - draws upon his memories of the eisteddfod.
Performers
The Llangollen eisteddfod is a major event in the music calendar, attracting 80,000 visitors each year.
On Tuesday, visitors and performers will witness a Caribbean carnival and opening ceremony through the town.
Cardiff-born superstar Dame Shirley Bassey will also perform at the eisteddfod's gala night next Sunday.
