The Australian superstar with family roots in south Wales appears in a long-flowing dress in a video shot for 21 - a show performed by the London-based Rambert Dance Company.

Twenty two dancers will perform Rafael Bonachela's new work, described as 'choreographed movement with elements of ballet', at Clwyd Theatr Cymru in Mold on Wednesday.

The show is a collaboration with William Baker and Alan MacDonald, the men who help style Kylie's image.

'Incredibly glamorous'

The performance, which ends its run on Saturday, incorporates a projected film recorded by the singer for the dance company and includes some electronically-altered singing by her.

The 34-year-old star, whose mother emigrated to Australia from her home town of Maesteg, performed in the video as a favour to choreographer Rafael Bonachela, whom she worked with during her Fever pop tour in 2002.

Bonachela said the singer underwent a slight image change for the shoot.

"She's exchanged the revealing costumes she wears in her stage shows for something far more subtle. But she still looks incredibly glamorous."

Fans are used to seeing Kylie in more skimpy attire

Spokesman for Clwyd Theatr Cymru Anthony Timothy said the Rambert Dance Company were a household name.

"They don't appear anywhere else in the region so when they come here it tends to be a sell-out anyway," he said.

"However, having Kylie appear may draw in a new audience for their work.

"It's attracted a lot of interest from far and wide.

"We're very lucky to have them here. they're up there with the Royal Ballet Company."

The 520 capacity audience will witness three dance shows by the Rambert troop. Kylie's cameo video appearance is in the first show.

The show moves on to the Sadlers Wells theatre in the West End of Londonon 20 May for four days.
