Albanian actor Shkeltzen Berisha performing in Powys earlier this year |
Actors from Theatr Powys are working with schoolchildren in the former war-torn Kosovo on a drama project. The theatre group's first overseas trip has taken it to the city of Gnjilane (or Gjilan) for nearly two weeks.
The five actors are staging workshops and performing plays for primary school children in English and Welsh.
The trip was made possible by an Albanian actor Shkelzen Berisha, who toured with the company earlier this year.
The English play, The King, the Crow and the Girl and the Welsh Brenin, Brn a Branwen, had already toured schools in Powys and other areas of Wales before heading to Kosovo.
Albanian teachers and students are performing alongside the company.
Theatr Powys' general manager Nikki Leopold said: "Three actors would have been out in Kosovo for two weeks by the end of the week. Another two went out last Saturday.
"They're doing a lot of work in schools and with youth theatre. This is the first time we've toured abroad."
