Attendances are up by 5,000 on last year's figures |
The Royal Welsh Show organisers said they attracted a record attendance for a second day of the event, as it welcomed its six millionth-ever visitor.
Gwyn and Elizabeth Jenkins, from Cwm Parc, Rhondda, received life membership of the Royal Welsh Agricultural Society (RWAS) which allows them free entry to the show for the rest of their lives.
The membership would have cost them 1,400.
Show organisers confirmed that there was a record-breaking attendance at the show on Tuesday.
The attendance on Tuesday was 61,496, more than 2,123 up on last year.
Treasurer Richard Mosley said:"Over the two days of the show the attendance is 5,000 up on the corresponding days last year."
More records have been broken in the livestock exhibition hall.
A total of 2,869 sheep entries were vying for the top prizes in their sections on Tuesday - an increase of 400 entries on the previous record.
The largest breed grouping was the Texel with 200 entries followed closely by the native Lleyn breed.
Meanwhile, a man is being questioned about the distribution of wrist entry bands to visitors outside the showground.
Dyfed-Powys Police confirmed they arrested a man but a spokeswoman was unsure whether he had been accused of selling them.
The pink bands are used by people, such as exhibitors, who enter the show with a ticket, but are constantly in and out of event.
