A movie set artist has spoken about life behind the scenes on one of this summer's Hollywood blockbusters - Around the World in 80 Days. It is the latest in a long line of Hollywood projects for Anthony Cain, from Bow Street, near Aberystwyth, who has rubbed shoulders with some of the greats of the big screen during more than 40 fllms.
In his most recent, which premiered in Leicester Square, London, on Tuesday night, and stars Jackie Chan and Steve Coogan, Mr Cain, 57, worked on sets in Thailand and Germany for five months - nearly double that of the 80-day movie title.
The son of Syd Cain, who worked as art director and production designer on some of the early James Bond classics, films are in his family's blood.
Living with his wife Chris, Mr Cain is not one for the glitz and glamour of the film world and has even shunned the bright lights of London for the quiet life in mid Wales.
Mr Cain calls Around the World in 80 Days "a fast-paced, very British comedy which is unusual when it's essentially an American film."
He said: "I worked in Krabi, in Thailand, and in Bangkok, in Berlin and Gorlitz in southern Germany.
"Gorlitz proved to be my biggest challenge on the film. We were filming in the town and we had to make it look like Paris during the Victorian era.
"We erected a panel over a wall which was three storeys high, about 40ft, and I went up in a lift and lettered and painted the boarding.
"It was a section in the film where Jackie Chan was flying in and out of windows doing his amazing stunts, but my piece may not get shown - that's something you never know being a film set artist.

Jackie Chan's trademark stunts will undoubtedly thrill movie audiences |
"I suppose the trickiest bit was making the wall look as though it was faded. The American film bosses asked me how long I required and I told them one-and-a-half days and they were quite surprised.
"The Brits are up there with the best when it comes to film making and especially art and production design."
A veteran of three Bond movies - Goldeneye, The Spy Who Loved Me and Never Say Never Again - Mr Cain has also worked on films starring Mel Gibson, Clint Eastwood, Richard Gere, Al Pacino, Anthony Hopkins, Tom Cruise, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Gregory Peck.

Around the World in 80 Days - adapted from the Jules Verne novel - sees Steve Coogan playing eccentric inventor Phileas Fogg, who makes a bet that he can circumnavigate the globe in no more than 80 days.
With his sidekicks Passepartout (Jackie Chan) and femme fatale Monique (Cecile De France), Fogg heads off on a round-the-world race that takes him to the world's most exotic places.
Oscar-winning Jim Broadbent plays the role of Lord Kelvin, while the movie also features guest appearances from several big names, among them Arnold Schwarzenegger and another Oscar winner, Kathy Bates.
