Vandals have caused thousands of pounds of damage at one of Wales' top tourist attractions - medieval Powis Castle near Welshpool Dyfed-Powys Police say ornamental statues were attacked in the grounds of the 12th Century castle.
The vandalism is estimated at more than �10,000.
Three youths have appeared in court at Welshpool charged with criminal damage and one of them was also charged with a public order offence.
It follows a recent attack at a nature reserve nearby where extensive damage was caused to a bird hide.
The red sandstone building, which is run by the National Trust, was originally built around 1200 while the garden is famous for its hanging yews.
Laid out under the influence of Italian and French styles, it includes its original lead statues, an orangery and an aviary on the terraces.
Thousands of visitors are attracted to the castle every year to wander the gardens and view its treasures.
