Supermarket HQ's call centre role
Kwiksave Supermarket
The building was HQ to the KwikSave supermarket chain
The former Kwik Save supermarket company's headquarters in Prestatyn in north Wales, which closed with the loss of over 800 jobs, is to become a major new call centre.

WTS Holdings, which already employs 76 staff on the St Asaph Business Park, plans to create 60 new jobs when it moves to the coast.

The WTS Holdings Group provides warranty and facilities management services through four subsidiary companies.

The headquarters for each of the subsidiaries will also move to the new Prestatyn base.

The former Kwik Save building, which has stood empty for over a year following the takeover of the company by the Somerfield supermarket group, will also be home to a new call centre.

The creation of 60 quality jobs at Prestatyn is also excellent news

Chris Farrow

"This is a major leap forward for WTS Holdings Ltd and our subsidiary companies," said the firm's Jim Edwards.

"Having a facility that can cater for our ever-expanding requirements was a major factor in our acquisition of the former Kwik Save site from Somerfield, and it will allow us to move forward with our investment plans."

The company said the site offered the potential to cater for up to 480 workers in the long-term.

The new investment has been welcomed by Denbighshire council and the Welsh Development Agency.

The managing director of the WDA's North Wales division, Chris Farrow, said WTS was one of the region's latest success stories.

"The creation of 60 quality jobs at Prestatyn is also excellent news, particularly as the former Kwik Save builkding is being brought back into use following its closure 12 months ago," said Mr Farrow.
