"Sole, Luna, Acqua" by Mario Schifano

The one-day exhibition is taking place at the Anthony Hopkins Centre in the Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff.

It has been the inspiration of Italian entrepreneur Pietro Biscaldi, the managing director of the Ceredigion-based firm.

In 1994 he commissioned Italian artist Mario Schifano to produce works of arts dedicated to the distinctive blue bottle.

Thirty of his works are featured, but they are joined by contributions from other leading Italian artists.

Ty Nant's general manager Nick Taylor stressed the synergy between the creative arts, the creative bottle itself and the creative work that has gone into the exhibition.

Globally recognised

"The sponsorship of the artists has great importance to Ty Nant as the event gives the Welsh public access to the creative arts," said Mr Taylor.

The exhibition is being staged in collaboration with the Welsh College of Music and Drama and the Welsh Development Agency.

WDA chairman Sir David Rowe-Beddoe said Ty Nant was already a globally recognised Welsh icon of style and quality.

"This highly original exhibition has elevated Ty Nant to an art form which has delighted audiences throughout Europe," he said.

The free exhibition is open to the public from 12000BST to 1900BST on Friday.
