Certain Welsh Artists, showing at the city's Glyn Vivian Art Gallery from 16 September, sets out to examine the issues of Welsh cultural identity in a global context.

It features the work of Tim Davies, Angharad Jones, Peter Finnemore, Paul Davies, Ernest Zobole and Bethan Huws among others.

The exhibition has the same title as Iwan Bala's recently published book, which features a diverse range of essays by leading Welsh artists and writers on the subject of Welsh visual culture.

The exhibition shows the work of 15 national and international artists in and around historic sites in Swansea.

Artists from Ireland, Scotland and France will create site-specific artwork at venues as diverse as Swansea castle, the central library and Swansea marina.

Iwan Bala's one-man show - called Offerings+Reinventions - features two and three-dimensional work made over the past two years.

His work alludes to Celtic myth and history but also draws on a wide variety of influences from other cultures.

The exhibition is an Oriel 31 touring exhibition and can be seen at the Glynn Vivian Art Gallery from 9 September until 12 November.
