Gallagher's Ebbw Vale date
Oasis
The Scottish gig may be Oasis' last
Noel Gallagher took time out from worries over the future of Oasis to watch Ebbw Vale's opening game of the rugby season.

Gallagher, who was in Scotland for Oasis headlining performance at the Glasgow Gig on the Green festival, saw the Welsh club lose 43-25 to Edinburgh Reivers.

The Oasis star was persuaded to watch the game by the band's manager Marcus Russell, who is from Rassau near Ebbw Vale.

Russell, a big rugby fan, bought the Welsh club two years ago.

Feuds

Later the Manchester band were performing on the final day of the Gig On The Green event in Glasgow before an estimated 30,000 fans.

Speculation has been rife in recent months that Oasis may split due to intense feuds between the Gallagher brothers.

Twice in the past month the stormy relationship has flared up as the band stormed off festival stages.

Rapturous

But rumours of their imminent demise were apparently dashed last night when the band took the Reading Festival by storm with a bravura performance.

Defying critics who predicted they would be pelted with bottles, Noel and Liam Gallagher received rapturous applause from a crowd of 60,000.

Speaking backstage before their headline act, Noel would only say: "If the band is going to break up, we're not going to do it before this weekend."

However Noel recently said he would review his future with the band after the festival, for which Oasis are pocketing an estimated 2m.
