Mr Hutin and his wife, Nicola, from Swansea were stunned when their sons were born early on David's own birthday.

Daniel and Joseph Hutin were delivered by caesarean section on the same day and same hour as their father and aunt - the chance of such an outcome is more than double the odds of winning the National Lottery.

Nicola and David Hutin had been trying to have children for 10 years and Mrs Hutin finally became pregnant after a course of IVF fertilisation treatment.

Twins are known to run in certain families, but the shock for the Hutins was the timing of their birth.

"I was expecting them on 12 June by caesarean, but my waters broke on the 11th," said Mrs Hutin.

"It is amazing, I cannot believe they are here."

Mr Hutin added: "We still cannot believe it, we had tried to have children for so long.

"To have twins on my birthday, I just cannot put it into words."
