Carwyn Jones wins Labour contest

Carwyn Jones has won the Welsh Labour leadership contest with 51.97% of the vote, to replace Rhodri Morgan as first minister in the Welsh assembly.

The result was announced at the Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff Bay by Katie Murdoch, 19, a journalism student at Cardiff University who joined Labour in September.
