Police help in mountain rescues

A group of four climbers were rescued off Tryfan

Police were involved in three separate mountain rescues in north Wales in one day.

Officers were told at about 2000 GMT on Monday that a group of four climbers were in difficulty on Tryfan.

Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue Team was called and helped the group off the mountain. No-one was injured.

Earlier, a girl aged 17 was taken to hospital after she was injured on Snowdon and a 13-year-old boy hurt his knee out walking with a scout group.

A spokesperson for North Wales Police said the 17-year-old girl was taken to Ysbyty Gwynedd by ambulance after injuring her ankle while walking on the Miners' Track on Snowdon.

Police received a report shortly after 1800 GMT that the teenager was unable to walk and the Llanberis Mountain Rescue Team was called out to help.

Stretcher

The girl was carried down the mountain on a stretcher and taken to hospital.

In the third incident, the boy suffered a knee injury after falling while walking with a scout group on Moel Hebog in Gwynedd.

Aberglaslyn Mountain Rescue was called out to the incident which happened at about 1430 GMT.

The boy was carried down on a stretcher and also taken to Ysbyty Gwynedd.
