'Conference' for homeless people

A "conference" to provide help for homeless people is being staged in Wrexham.

The event, called Resfest09, will provide educational workshops and entertainment for about 100 people at Glyndwr University.

It has been organised by The Wrexham Foyer, a homeless hostel for people aged 16-25.

Spokesman Ade Harvey said it was an opportunity to engage with homeless people and provide a "fun" day.

He added: "All of our residents have come to us after being homeless. We hope to give them stability, support and some of the skills required to live an independent, successful life.

"We want our young people, many of whom are hard to reach and engage, to enjoy this day and therefore we are giving away many prizes - the aim is for every young person to win something."
