Photographer Michael Bosanko from Caerphilly has been making eye-catching images using torches as light paintbrushes and setting his camera to take long exposures since 2004.
Mr Bosanko, 39, discovered the technique by accident while holidaying in Greece and has since experimented with different coloured torches, locations and covering the lens with coloured acetate.
Mr Bosanko describes idea generation as a two-way process. Sometimes they are inspired by the locations he finds and some by the light graffiti images themselves. Once he has an idea, this prompts a search for an appropriate location.
The shots have caught the eye of mobile phone firm TalkTalk, which commissioned Mr Bosanko to create different images in cities across the UK for an advertising campaign.
The images shown in this gallery are of Mr Bosanko's most recent works which were all shot in Wales. He said the technique had "broken out" in recent years but seems to have been used first by Picasso in 1949.
He said taking the pictures could either be "incredibly difficult or very easy" according to the lighting conditions. The darker it is the easier to make the shots so city shoots can be difficult.
Despite having no formal training in photography, Mr Bosanko has also written articles on how to take certain images for photography magazines. His freelance work also involves more standardised photography.
