Jeneanne Pendlebury leads out the Brecon Jazz Festival parade. The smaller festival which is under new management continues all weekend at the mid Wales town.
Members of Cardiff-based Wonderbrass take part in the parade of floats, horses, musicians and entertainers.
The Clarke Sextet who are performing a gig on Saturday evening get in some practice. Festival Director Peter Florence said about 12,000 people have taken part in the 2009 festival so far.
Many of the visiting musicians took part in the parade, helping create what organisers called a "fantastic atmosphere".
The Adamant Band joined in the parade. Courtney Pine will also return to perform his new Sidney Bechet-inspired album, Tradition in Transition, on Saturday for which extra tickets have gone on sale.
