Connie Brown may be 102 - but she still got up early to prepare fish and chips
A great-grandmother who still works every day has celebrated her 102nd birthday with a surprise outing on a motorbike, and then a Ferrari supercar. Connie Brown MBE, from Pembrokeshire, gets up every morning to prepare food for the family run chip shop. While she was still up early on her birthday, she was greeted by well-wishers and whisked off round Pembroke. Dressed in a leather motorcycle jacket and a black helmet, she said: "Everyone should try it". "It was a beautiful day, I will never forget this day," she said after returning from her first trip on the back of a three-wheeled chopper bike. But her thrills did not end there. After the bike ride, she was ushered into a red Ferrari sports car for another spin around the town. "I never dreamt of anything like this this," she said. "I'll get back to the fish and chips tomorrow, now." | Connie Brown celebrates 102 in style

Her birthday also marks 81 years in business at Brown's Cafe, which she opened with her late husband Sydney in 1928. Thursday's special celebration was organised by Peter Kraus, who runs a company organising once-in-a-lifetime treats, especially for seriously ill children. To mark her centenary, he had her "kidnapped" by a horseman, and taken on a trip in a horse-drawn carriage. "I'm not quite sure what to do for the next birthday - but look out," joked Mr Kraus. "She is game for a laugh and I love her to bits." Among the well-wishers were her great-grandson Tom Bryant, and her granddaughter, Tom's mother Sandra. "It's a fantastic day for the family, she is remarkable," said Mrs Bryant. "She knew something was going on - but she didn't know what. It's amazing the way she keeps on going - we all love her to bits."
