VAT cut has failed, says Cameron

Conservative leader David Cameron has criticised Gordon Brown's handling of the credit crisis, calling the VAT cut an "unbelievable and expensive failure".

He told BBC Radio 2's Jeremy Vine programme that the government's plans to boost the housing market and encourage spending by a temporary 2.5% VAT reduction had not worked.
