The Millennium Stadium will host a second Take That show in June

Take That have added a second date at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium to their summer 2009 UK tour.

Promoters are offering a VIP package with a chance to meet the band to whoever books the millionth ticket for the 20-night tour, The Circus Live.

The band, who reformed in 2005 after nine years apart, are already performing at the stadium on 16 June, which sold out in hours.

Tickets for the new date, on 17 June, go on sale at 0900 GMT on Tuesday.

Millennium Stadium chief executive Roger Lewis said he expected the new tickets to sell as quickly as the first concert.

"To get them for a second date is a real shot in the arm for the Millennium Stadium and for all their fans in Wales, the south of Britain and beyond who had thought they had missed out on the chance to see them on their sell-out tour this summer," he said.

"We fully expect tickets for this new gig to be snapped up as quickly as those for the first night and would very much advise fans to get in touch as early as they possibly can."

The month-long summer tour will also visit Sunderland, Coventry, Dublin and Manchester before finishing at Wembley Stadium in London.

All the dates have sold out and the band has broken the record for the fastest-selling UK tour, according to organisers.

'The Circus Live' concert marks the first time the Millennium Stadium has been re-booked for consecutive shows due to such high demand since 2001 - that year it was ex-band member Robbie Williams who sold-out a 14 July concert and re-opened the following night.

Take That last played the Millennium Stadium on 21 June 2006 in front of a 60,000-plus capacity concert crowd.

At the time, organisers turned male toilets into female ones, saying 90% of the audience were women.

The Manchester band reunited without original member Robbie Williams after a TV documentary marking their split was seen by seven million viewers.

Their latest album, The Circus, went straight to number one when it was released on 1 December.
