A High Court legal fight has begun between world champ boxer Joe Calzaghe and his former manager Frank Warren.

Mr Warren is claiming Calzaghe owes him more than �1m for breaking a verbal contract to promote any further fights after the boxer split from him.

The boxer denied any contract and counterclaimed he was owed more than �2m fees for his Bernard Hopkins win.

Mr Justice Coulson told Sports Network to produce accounts to show the fight's profits and expenses within eight days.

If the terms of the court order are not met, then Sports Network was told it would have to pay �1.76m into court ahead of a hearing.

The judge said the world super-middleweight champion, from Newbridge, south Wales, was the current BBC Sports Personality of the Year who had enjoyed a "successful and profitable" relationship with Warren until the two "fell out".

Calzaghe said he is entitled to 80% of the profits received by Sports Network from the Hopkins fight but had received just �1m and all his efforts to find out how much Sports Network had received had been in vain.

Mr Justice Coulson said some information given by Mr Warren or his advisers about the profits from the Hopkins fight had been "inaccurate".

"This has helped to create the impression that the claimant (Sports Network) has not been entirely straightforward with the court."
