| Friday, 19 May, 2000, 13:42 GMT 14:42 UK Morgan launches cyber jobs ![]() The firm provide customer support for internet companies Assembly First Secretary Rhodri Morgan has opened an internet call centre which will create 200 jobs in west Wales. CyberCall handles phone call and sales for internet companies.
Earlier this year the company criticised Assembly politicians for delaying vital grants. The company began business with 25 staff on the Teifi Business Park in Cardigan last summer. Its massive expansion is largely thanks to a link up with Avenue One, an internet firm claiming to be Britain's first on line department store. Cardigan will provide customer support for the entire operation.
Mr Morgan officially opened the centre and said the internet is bringing new jobs to rural Wales. But earlier this year the company sounded a warning to Assembly politicians to work together to secure European Objective One grants. It said it was relying on the European aid to secure its long-term future. |
