The Faenol Festival will be held in the grounds of the Faenol estate in Bangor over the August Bank Holiday weekend. After years for performing for audiences around the world, the acclaimed bass baritone announced he is to come home to north Wales.
During his own festival, he will be joined by artists such as Michael Ball, and Sian Cothi over three days of opera, songs from the shows and contemporary Welsh music. Mr Terfel - recently named best male artists in the Classical Brit Awards - has promised that this year's event is just the first of many. "These three days in August are in my calendar now for the next three years. "So we're not thinking of a one-off, we're thinking of something that will evolve. "There's going to be something for everybody. Plus the fact that we have local people performing before the concerts as well." Tickets for the event go on sale from Friday. |
