| Thursday, 27 April, 2000, 07:13 GMT 08:13 UK Malkovich stars at The Big Sleep ![]() John Malkovich will bed down in the hotel lobby Hollywood actor John Malkovich has come up with a novel way to beat jetlag blues - going to bed in a hotel lobby. His visit to the aptly named The Big Sleep hotel in Cardiff is a chance to catch up on one of his lesser known investments.
Malkovich will spend three hours sleeping in the hotel lobby in one of his more unusual roles. The star of Dangerous Liaisons has shot back to prominence with the release of his highly acclaimed surreal comedy, Being John Malkovich. Taking a break from directing in Madrid, the actor will join long-term friend Cosmo Fry - managing director of The Big Sleep - to enjoy a three-day break from his schedule.
"He is in the habit of making the occasional investment in projects which are interesting to him," said Mr Fry. "He is an extraordinary guy. He is interested in fashion and lifestyle, hence making him an investor here in the hotel." "He will leave his mark in the hotel by helping re-design a suite - he will choose the style of the furniture and I will make it." During his first stay in Wales, Malkovich plans to host a cocktail party at the hotel. |
