| Saturday, 4 March, 2000, 14:33 GMT Power station row rumbles on ![]() The power station is planned for a derelict site on Anglesey A trust made up of north Wales councillors could face legal action over a decision on the future of a site earmarked for a possible gas power station. It is understood that the Isle of Anglesey Charitable Trust has decided to sell the option to buy the Rhosgoch site to Burlington Resources. Ynys Mon Council is keen to see a new gas power station on Anglesey. Land at Rhosgoch, which is controlled by a Charitable trust made up of the island's councillors, has been earmarked as a suitable site. Rival bidders Three companies have been bidding for the right to buy the option on the land with a view to ultimately developing a power station there. It is understood that, following presentations from the three bidders on Thursday, the councillors decided to accept a bid by Burlington Resources. As an agreement has yet to be signed, the Trust has yet to confirm the deal. But Canatex Energy Ventures Ltd, one of the rival bidders, said it might launch a legal bid to challenge the decision. |
