Domenic Hopkins had just been accepted by the RAF |
The family of a sixth former killed in a car crash at the weekend has paid tribute to him. Domenic Hopkins, 18, from Port Talbot died from injuries received when his stationary Vauxhall Tigra was hit by another car early on Saturday.
In a statement, his family said Domenic had just been accepted into the RAF and was looking forward to starting the "next chapter in his life".
A 21-year-old man was arrested after the collision on the A483 in Swansea.
He was driving the other car involved in the collision - a Vauxhall Corsa travelling on the eastbound carriageway on Fabian Way.
Police said Domenic's car had lost a wheel just before the crash at 0140 GMT and was stationary.
A 17-year-old female passenger in the Tigra was seriously injured in the crash.
Another passenger, a 15-year-old girl, was treated for shock at Morriston Hospital, Swansea.

His family said: "Domenic was studying maths and history in sixth form at school. He had just been accepted into the RAF, and was really looking forward to starting this next chapter in his life.
"Domenic had a great interest and aptitude in engineering, and his interests included his car and music. He played football for his school, was a big Man United fan, and had a real passion for all sports.
"Domenic will be greatly missed by his mum, dad and older sister, as well as by all his family members and friends.
"We are naturally devastated by our loss, and would ask that we are all left in peace to grieve for Domenic."
Police are appealing for witnesses to the crash, particularly a heavy goods vehicle which passed the Corsa just before the collision, and a 4x4 that passed afterwards.
