RSPCA officials were called in to investigate after six-year-old Alexandria East was left devastated by the death of her pet dog Ria.
Three-year-old Ria suffered fatal head injuries after landing on a cement plant pot. An RSPCA spokesman confirmed the postman would face charges of causing unnecessary suffering and unlawful damage. A protest by animal lovers outside the Swansea sorting office where Mr Ace is based called for his sacking. Mr Ace said the dog had attacked him. He is set to appear before magistrates in Swansea on October 12. The spokesman added: "RSPCA officials have been gathering evidence during the three months since this incident happened. "Our legal advisers believe there is a case and Mr Ace has been summonsed to meet the two charges." |
