Water levels rose in Llanrwst a week ago
Many areas of Wales have been told to beware of flooding after heavy rain overnight, with gales to follow.

At one time there were 11 flood warnings and 38 flood watches issued by the Environment Agency, although that total was later reduced to one and 14 respectively.

The Met Office also warned of gales in the west from Anglesey to Pembrokeshire, with gusts up to 70mph.

The Environment Agency advised people to call its floodline on 0845 988 1188.

People were also urged to keep an eye on weather and travel bulletins.

The flood warning at 1730 GMT on Sunday was on the river Usk, between Brecon and Glangrwyne Flood watches were in force for the Usk at other points, and for the Wye, Neath, Towy, Lugg, and Monnow.

There were flood watches on rivers between Carmarthen and Llantwit Major, between Clarach Bay, north of Aberystwyth, and Carmarthen, the Llyn Peninsula and south to Barmouth.

The most recent flooding in Wales was last Monday, when the river Conwy burst its banks at Llanrwst, properties on Anglesey were flooded, and driving on the M4 was made dangerous by excess water.
