The grant will help repair the walls and windows of Priory House

The grants announced by Welsh Culture Minister Alun Pugh range from �1,500 to �60,000.

They include St Seiriol Church, Penmon, the centrepiece of a 12th Century monastic estate near a holy well, cell and monastic remains at Ynys Seiriol, with �20,570.

The Priory House, one of the buildings set around the cloister court of the priory church at St Seiriol's, receives �21,600.

The medieval St Cwyfan's Church, Aberffraw, benefits from a �16,500 to undertake repairs to its roof, walls and windows.

Mr Pugh said: "Some of these buildings, such as the buildings at St Seiriol... have a fascinating history.

"But each of the buildings play an important role in their local communities.

"As well as helping to improve the local surroundings, some of these buildings have also played a part in regenerating the local economy.

"These grants will help to safeguard these buildings for people to enjoy now and in the future."

The projects were assessed by Cadw, the assembly's historic environment agency, and awards were made on the recommendation of the Historic Buildings Council for Wales.
